NewLife Student Ministry: Student Leadership Team

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17 NIV

Overview

The Student Leadership Team (SLT) exists to equip students to live lives of SERVICE, by empowering them with leadership roles and responsibilities.

Students will gather once a month to dive into Scripture together, study Christ’s example of servanthood, learn how to apply it to their everyday lives, and all the while deepen their passion and love for Christ.

Students will apply what they learn by investing in the Student Ministry with their time and energy, helping them to make an impact on their fellow students for Jesus. Students will develop the skills to continue this SERVICE beyond our church doors—at home, at school, at work, and in the larger community.

What does this look like for me?
  • Meet once per month outside of programming for a time of discipleship that will include lessons on service and leadership, team-building exercises, and ministry planning.
  • Arrive early to Student Ministry on Wednesday evenings to set up the building: stack chairs, move tables, set up games, etc.
  • Serve in the following ways throughout the evening:
    • Greeters- hold doors, greet new students, run check-in stations
    • Servers- work in the Student Café serving food and drinks
    • Floaters- seek out unfamiliar faces to connect with, bring energy to the evening
    • Hosts- lead games, oversee hosting moment
    • Tech- run tech during large group time
  • Stay after Student Ministry ends to clean up and reset the building
  • Beyond Wednesday evening programming, SLT will be asked to participate in off-campus Student Ministry events and activities
